Doreen Frost ~ Designer, Teacher & Merry Maker of Original Needle~Work Creations, Folky Fraktur Woole~Worked Animals & Needle Work Patterns.

I have always dreamed of owning my own business, working with my hands, creating what made my heart sing . Fifteen years ago that dream began to take shape. My business grew slowly at first and I have dabbled in many different art forms (which I still do from time to time :). Six years ago I decided to concentrate on my love of Punch Needle Embroidery. I did loads of research, purchased the tools & supplies, that I knew I would enjoy using, and taught myself everything I could (and felt I needed to know) about this wonderful needle art. In 2011, I began offering my original Punch Needle Embroidery designs and things just took off from there!! Over the years my business has grown tremendously. I now travel throughout New England teaching classes & giving workshops. I also hold small classes here, in our Vermont home in Autumn & Early Winter. Outside, the wind howls, crisp leaves fly past the windows & snow swirls about... inside, a cozy fire burns and a homemade meal is prepared..we settle ourselves with our hoop & needles and enjoy a day of learning, goode conversation, friends and food. Each day I give thanks for this wonderful life I live. ~ doreen

Under The Weather........

Goode morning.  Just a quick note to let you all know..I'm still here but I am SICK.  A nasty cold with the sore throat from hell has had it's grips in me for two weeks now and instead of getting better, it seems to be getting worse.  Therefore....I must postpone today's website update. :( which, I am quite disappointed to have to do as I already am feeling behind and I had different plans for this New Year!!  I am thinking it will be safe to reschedule for Friday January 20th.

I am not one for going to the dr's..in fact I avoid it for as long as I possibly can..however, I've tried every home remedy and OTC med that usually work for me and NOTHING..this one has got it's claws into me big time. So....of to the dr's I go.... argh!!

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!!!  He was a wonderful, amazing man.

Until next time ~ doreen

  5. Not any way to start off the New Year Doreen, hope you'll feel better REAL soon. Heard Lori B. has the (same thing) & been down & out, it's going around!! This happens often (to those especially with non-stop schedules) after all the running during the year, then on through the holidays & then into the New Year...WHAM-Oooo, your body says ENOUGH!!!

My Italian Great Aunts had (great old-fashioned remedies) that I tell you REALLY-REALLY work!! Take a spoonful of honey followed by a quick shot of Vermouth and then chase that with some nice hot tea. That will help your throat. Then for stuffy sinuses & head... they used to put a heaping spoonful of Vick's Vapor Rug in a pan of HOT boiling water, put my head hovering over it & a towel over my head so I could breathe in the menthol fumes...boy did that work! This knocked my head cold right out of me in no time!

Give these a try, hope you feel & are "good as new" real soon! Take care, your woolly friend, ~Diane

    1. You are SO sweet Diane. The Vicks remedy I tried..along with my essential oils, which ALWAYS work for me and nothing. I have spent the last two weeks trying every home remedy for colds & drinks, etc..hot toddies..hot tea...lemon, honey, vinegar...you name it..NOTHING. I've never had a sore throat like this..it is awful. I hadn't heard of the vermouth remedy tho..I will do that today (once morning passes..lol)

hugs to you my friend, doreen
