Doreen Frost ~ Designer, Teacher & Merry Maker of Original Needle~Work Creations, Folky Fraktur Woole~Worked Animals & Needle Work Patterns.

I have always dreamed of owning my own business, working with my hands, creating what made my heart sing . Fifteen years ago that dream began to take shape. My business grew slowly at first and I have dabbled in many different art forms (which I still do from time to time :). Six years ago I decided to concentrate on my love of Punch Needle Embroidery. I did loads of research, purchased the tools & supplies, that I knew I would enjoy using, and taught myself everything I could (and felt I needed to know) about this wonderful needle art. In 2011, I began offering my original Punch Needle Embroidery designs and things just took off from there!! Over the years my business has grown tremendously. I now travel throughout New England teaching classes & giving workshops. I also hold small classes here, in our Vermont home in Autumn & Early Winter. Outside, the wind howls, crisp leaves fly past the windows & snow swirls about... inside, a cozy fire burns and a homemade meal is prepared..we settle ourselves with our hoop & needles and enjoy a day of learning, goode conversation, friends and food. Each day I give thanks for this wonderful life I live. ~ doreen

Busy, Busy, Busy... Goode Things To Come

Glad Tidings.  We wake to a mere 4* here in Vermont with the biggest storm of the year looming down upon us.  It is set to begin tomorrow morning and last throughout Wednesday....I, OF COURSE, do not mind but goodenness, how wonderful this would have been if it had happened in December!!!  :) I am headed out, in a couple of hours to do some food (and wine) shopping before the storm hits. I've been trying to get to the grocery store for two days now but it has been so bitterly cold that I just couldn't make myself leave the house! BUT, we are in need of quite a few things and with a big storm on the way, I guess I better get myself there!

As you can see, my "Olde New England Pumpkin" is coming along nicely.  I am SO pleased with it.   I took this photo early Saturday morning, and have worked on it since then SO...it is actually almost finished.  I just need to add my "finishing touches" and it will be ready, along with a few other pieces Friday/Saturday (most likely Saturday).

I will also have another Goode Thing to share later in the week....Here's a sneak peek :)

IN OTHER NEWS...Our poor boy sustained an injury yesterday while helping his dad. :(
this photo was taken a couple years ago. ♥♥
He cut his paw pad on the crazy ice and snow we have here right now....poor guy...it bled like crazy (all over the living room rug....) and he's limping.  The cut is actually quite small but Dr. Dru said paws are impossible..they bleed terribly and there's nothing they can really do for them... we will just keep it clean, keep him mellow and apply my handmade paw balm..which he loves.  Poor guy though, I hate to see him in pain!!

Okay..time is getting away from me..it's 7:15 and I'm usually tidying the house by now...

Until next time ~ wishing you a joyful start to your week, doreen

  5. Love this pumpkin - can't wait to see your finish. I was going to place an order but now I'll wait so I can add this! I was disappointed to not see any punchneedle from my other favorite designers come out of Nashville this year. It's hard to be in the mood to stitch winter when it's been in the 70's and 80's here. I wouldn't mind a few days of being snowed in to get some stitching done. Prayers for Oliver to heal quick.

  6. I received Miss Crissy pattern and was delighted and look forward to assembling all of her parts. She will wear something blue or brown I think, or both. And the unexpected deliciousness of Sweet Annie had me so enthralled that if I could tape it to my nose as a mustache and smell it's wonderfulness all day I would not be happier. So now I am on the hunt to plant my own to fill my home! Thank you for the lovely package!

  7. I forgot to mention that I hope the pumpkin residing in a black vase will be a pattern. It's simple shapes are very appealing and I would like to try a needlepunch that is not filled with many different colors.
