~Sugaring Season Is Here~

~It has begun~

Our tree's are tapped, a maze of blue lines runs through the woods bound for the large black gathering tanks which wait patiently in the clearings, buckets hang along the roadsides, in the smaller grove of trees & near the sugar-house. The wood fired boiler is cleaned and ready.......
....And so......this years Sugaring Season begins!

~The Sap is running!

~“How delightful a calling to spend my days huddled up in my humble little studio, buried deep in fur & fabric, surrounded by buttons, bows & ribbons.... sewing, stuffing, sculpting and shaping…knowing, that as the sun drifts away and the moon rises…I will have created something that now possess the ability to look back at me.”~

Here at Vermont Harvest Folk Art you will find a delightful mixture of Early Style Folk Art creations reminiscent of the 18th & 19th Century.

Each piece is entirely hand crafted here in my Vermont home using a variety of materials such as hand dyed Muslin, Linen, Osnaburg, and wool. Each creation is stuffed with a fragrant combination of walnut shells & sawdust with a bit of lavender or pine depending on the season. My Early Dolls are hand sculpted from clay & aged to appear as if they have been gently taken from an olde trunk in the attic. Clothing and accessories are made using antique, vintage & reproduction fabrics, trims & trinkets. Each piece is created with the utmost care & quality to ensure your complete satisfaction.

My Bears & other mohair creations are created using antique & vintage Mohair or new Schulte or Helmbold Mohair. Paw pads are made from antique & vintage wool, ultra suede, velour or leather. Each one is stuffed with a combination of wool roving, wood wool and lavender with walnut shells, glass beads or steel shot added for weight. The above, of course, depends on the desired finished look & feel of the bear. Each is 5 way disk jointed or cotter pin jointed and have glass eyes and waxed noses. They are all shaved, snipped & shaded to give them an aged, time worn & much loved appearance.

My beeswax items are created using pure 100% creamy beeswax from a local beekeeper. Each piece is hand poured one at a time using antique, vintage or reproduction molds. They are then aged and perfectly scented & dusted with spices.

You may be confident in knowing that when you purchase one of my original creations that it was made with great attention to detail and the finest materials. Know that you will have a quality piece of art that will last for many, many years to come.

~Most pieces are either One Of A Kind or Limited Editions~

~Custom orders are accepted and special request are always welcome.~
