~A Few details about the sweet little characters who find their way out of my studio and into the hearts of others~
Each creation is entirely hand crafted, by me, here in our Vermont home and created with the utmost care & quality to ensure your complete satisfaction.
~My first love and what brings me the most delight in creating are my Bears, Mice and other mohair animals. They are what I create most often and which bring me the most joy as I bring their little bodies and souls to life. The Bears as well as their sweet little mohair companions, are affectionately called, "Mohair Moppets".~
Each "Moppet" is created using antique & vintage Mohair or new Schulte or Helmbold Mohair. Paw pads are made from antique & vintage wool, ultra suede, velor or leather. Each one is stuffed with a combination of wool roving, Excelsior; wood wool, lavender or dried pine with walnut shells, glass beads, ceramic pellets or steel shot added for weight. The above, of course, depends on the desired finished look & feel of the bear. Each is 5 way disk or cotter pin jointed and have glass eyes and waxed noses. They are all shaved, snipped & shaded to give them an aged, time worn & much loved appearance.
~For information on the other wonderful characters & creations that occasionally find their way onto my work table, please visit the "About Me" page.`
