Each doll is entirely hand crafted by me from start to finish. Each one begins with a cloth torso that is stuffed with wool and weighted. I then apply a paper clay overlay. Heads, arms & legs are hand sculpted from paper clay. Each doll is then hand painted, aged and sealed to give them an old & time worn appearance. Some dolls may be mounted on various antique or vintage finds.
Each dolls attire is created using antique, vintage & reproduction fabrics, trims & trinkets. This also is the case for accessories and adornments. Much hand sewing goes into the creation of each dolls attire.

Her clothing has been hand dyed, aged and hand sewn. She holds in her hand a small journal made from aged paper. Ladye' Dorset strolls contentedly through the market in Langdon square, enjoying the pleasant weather and the occasional chat with neighbors and friends. "Tis such a glorious day" , she muses as she breathes in the scent of crisp fall leaves blended with the smell of wood smoke and warm spices from the various merchants selling baked goodes. She meanders about purchasing items from her favorite merchants, taking advantage of their kind offer to deliver her parcels to her home later in the afternoon. Carrying only a small paper packet of her favorite dried spice she continues on in search of the Milliners wagon hoping to purchase a bit of ribbon before slowing making her way towards home.

~Independence Day 1867~
As the sun sets on WidsbeeLake, townsfolk slowly begin to gather in Landgon Square for the annual Independence Day Celebration. The lamp posts have been lit & festive striped booths dot the walkways along the lake, manned by various townsfolk who have volunteered their time. Game booths are placed in a circle on the green adjacent to the band stand, where a festive group of musicians plays a lively tune and folks gather to dance in the grass below. Blanket’s dot the lawn as families relax with their picnic baskets awaiting the highlight of the evening….the glorious fireworks extravaganza.

Tis late afternoon as Ladye Manchester meanders along Brushberry Lane, casually making her way toward home, “Oh what a lovely day for a stroll into town” she ponders, “such agreeable weather to be sure!”She pauses to watch a flock of wild turkey’s foraging in the field just below her small stone cottage on the hill. She smile’s to herself as she hears their contented “clucks” every now & then as they wander about the field.
The day has worn itself thin and night waits anxiously to make its entrance.A slight chill softly whispers, barely noticeable as it hitches a ride on an errant breeze, bringing Ladye Manchester from her far away thoughts. She gathers her belongings and continues up the hill toward home, anxious for a cup of tea and the comforts of an evening fire.
