~Harvest Offerings~
|
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Harvest Time....Such a wonderful time of year.....As summer waves goodbye, the days shorten and a crisp but gentle wind begins to blow, alight with the melody of Canadian geese honking as they fly high overhead. Stunning amber, crimson & golden leaves are tossed about, catching here & there on fat pumpkins, luscious Mum`s & tall stalks of corn placed decoratively on porches, fences & lamp posts to welcome in this wonderful beauty known as Fall.
I hope you enjoy my Harvest Offerings as much as I`ve enjoyed making them for you.
The breezes taste of apple peel. The air is full of smells to feel- Ripe fruit, old footballs, burning brush, new books, erasers, chalk, and such. The bee, his hive, well-honeyed hum, and Mother cuts Chrysanthemums. Like plates washed clean with suds, the days are polished with A morning haze."
- John Updike, September
