#93 ~Little Silky & Her Eggs~

This is such a sweet little gathering. The pictures do not do it justice. I'm a very big chicken fan...I love them and due to the fact that I have not been able to acquire a flock of real chickens, I've decided to just make my own mohair flock.
This little "silky" is such a cutie. She is made from vintage sparse creamy white mohair & s tuffed with a combination of walnut shells, sawdust & dried pine (she's smells devine). She has hand sculpted facial features and tiny black glass eyes. She has been aged, clipped & shaded to give her a bit more character :). Her two small eggs are made from paper clay and have been painted, crackled & sealed.
Little Silky, her eggs & her nest of dried grasses sits inside a fabric covered paper mache box. The fabric is a lovely blue, harvest & cream reproduction fabric that I've aged and sanded. The inside of the box has been painted & waxed.
Measures 8" tall & 6" wide.

#88 ~The Wee Tailor~
.jpg)
~The Wee Tailor~
"oh goodness me...so many buttons to sew"
This busy little Tailor is hard at work preparing flax to be spun into beautiful Linen thread!
The Wee Tailor is made from a mini vintage Schulte mohair in a rich cocoa brown. He is stuffed with wool roving, has tiny black glass eyes, linen thread whiskers and a jute tail. He is perched atop a vintage wooden spool that I've decoupaged with an aged copy of an 1818 Farmers Almanac page. On the base of the spool you will find a smaller wooden spool, decoupaged with aged paper & wrapped with raw flax. The entire piece measures 5 1/2" tall.

~Barton Bunny Vignette~
~A One Of A Kind Little Mohair Moppet With His Easter Basket~
~B #004-2010~

Please meet Barton Bunny. Named for the Village of Barton, Vermont.
This little guy is so sweet! Barton is made from a mixture of black & white curly, sparse schulte mohair that has been clipped, shaved, aged & shaded to give him an olde, worn and much loved look & feel. He is stuffed with a combination of wool roving & sawdust for a soft squishy look & feel. He has black glass shoe button eyes, a waxed floss, needle-felted nose & shaded facial features.
Barton is wearing a vintage handmade faded red flannel jacket and cap and is holding a sawdust stuffing vintage velvet carrot.
.jpg)
Barton's "Easter Basket" is made from a hand painted and aged mache box that is filled with dried grasses & herbs.

Barton measures just a bit over 12" tall from the tips of his toes to the tips of his ears.

#75 ~Miss Addison~
~Miss Addison~
~A One Of A Kind Little Mohair Moppet~
~#B002-2010~
Parting with this little sweetheart is going to be oh so difficult. I absolutely LOVE her. She is made from a mini vintage curly sparse snow white mohair. She has black glass shoe button eyes, a waxed floss nose & needle sculpted facial features. Her little body has been clipped, aged and distressed to appear old, worn & loved.
.jpg)
She measures a petite 8" tall, is stuffed with wool roving, lavendar and walnut shells for weight.
She wears an absolutely beautiful antique doll dress which I've not altered in the least..it fits her as though it was made for her. Around her neck she wears a tiny necklace made from waxed floss and a small glass piece from an antique chandelier. Will also come with my trademark "token" you see in the photo above.
Again, many thanks to Vivianne Gilli for this wonderful bear pattern~
