Please meet Miss Dorset, so named for the lovely town of Dorset, Vermont.
Miss Dorset is my newest bear fashioned after the wonderful old antique bears. I just love her long nose and just slightly too big feet. She is made from a gorgeous cocoa brown Helmbold Mohair with a very dark brown backing. She has tiny black glass shoe button eyes and a waxed, needle-sculpted floss nose. She is stuffed with wool roving and has a small pouch of steel shot in her belly for weight. She has been clipped, aged and shaved for a much loved, well worn appearance.
Miss Dorset measures just shy of 11" tall. She wears a sweet little vintage doll slip. Around her neck she wears a soft brown velvet ribbon with a small pewter bell. The bell has a running rabbit and a small bird carved on it...it's just lovely. Miss Dorset holds a beautiful carrot made from vintage orange velvet. it is stuffed with my fragrant sawdust combination and features green velvet stems.
