A festive wool box-bottom cross body bag.
Finished measurements ~ 11" x 13" with a 21" cotton strap.
AMERICA 1776-2026 ~ A beautiful wooly blue plaid, cross body bag, featuring a lovely, aged urn filled with patriotic florals. On the back of the bag, you’ll find the numbers 1776 and a spot for initials.
Finished piece measures 11” x 13” along with a 21” strap. The bag hits at hip level when worn though you could certainly change the length of the strap, to suit your needs.
**I used a sewing machine for this design as I wanted it to be nice and sturdy. You are welcome to sew the piece by hand, if you do not plan to wear it. The bag has a simple box-bottom to give it a little more structure. The wool applique is done using a whip stitch and a stem stitch for the stems. You will also fold the top over and blanket stitch the hem in place. ***All of my patterns come with a stitch "booklet" that covers my three main stitches ~ the whip stitch, stem stitch and blanket stitch.** To finish you'll secure a length of cotton twill tape on the inside of the bag and, THERE YOU GO, you will have a beautiful cross body bag to wear :).
